O-ring is constructed in the shape of a torus, wherein the ring is also circular. This ring is made of an elastomeric material having flexible and spring properties. Means for sealing these rings consists in the fact that the internal stress of seal caused by the external pressure is always less than the sum of the stresses derived from external pressure and seal clamp.

Application:

Drives and control of hydraulic and pneumatic: to clamping sealing knots in movement and resting connections in hydraulic and pneumatic and other parts of machinery and equipment. Scope of the rings "O" of different hardness is dependent on the pressure sealed medium and width of slot. The choice of material for the seal is dependent on the temperature and type of medium.
