Chloropren CR Neoprene, Baypren, Butaclor, Denka, Chloroprene

Chloroprene rubber is a polymer of chloroprene. Chloroprene vulcanizates are characterized by high resistance to ozone, weathering, chemical and flame. Chloroprene vulcanizate has an average resistance to mineral oils and greases.

Operating temperature range is -40 to +110°C, for short duration +130°C

Chloroprene rubber is resistant to:

  • mineral oils with high aniline point
  • Silicone oils and greases
  • alcohols and glycols
  • refrigerants (CFCs)
  • anhydrous ammonia
  • salt solutions, dilute acids, alkalis and water

Chloroprene vulcanizates are not resistant to:

  • chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons
  • esters, ketones, amines
  • petroleum-based fuels
